Bandol is one of the most internationally recognized wine regions in the world. The warm costal climate situated in Provence, is ideal for the Mouvedre grape, which is primarily used to make Red Bandol. These wines tend to be very complex, minerally, and exude heavily concentrated aromas of black fruits, violets, herbs, licorice, leather and meaty, savory notes. The Reds have tremendous ability to age and can improve with up to 25 years of cellaring. White Bandol is often made of a blend of Clairette, Bourboulenc and Ugni Blanc, and are incredibly bright and fresh wines. I am so excited for this Wednesday’s tasting, featuring 2 Reds and a White Bandol. These beautiful wines would make for a very special holiday gift, for any wine lover, or just any old lover for that matter.
